Inverter technology allows for electronically controlling the voltage, current, and frequency of electrical appliances, including the motor that drives the compressor in air conditioning units. The advantages of this technology are significant, starting with the ability to drastically reduce consumption and compressor wear (see graphs on the side). An air conditioner without an inverter device relies on alternating on-off cycles of the compressor to reach the set-point conditions in the room. This not only increases the compressor's consumption, requiring it to operate at full power each time it is turned on, but also compromises comfort in the room by excessively raising the temperature or starting at temperatures that are too low.
Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning units are equipped with highly efficient and innovative compressors. Mitsubishi Electric has created and developed an extremely compact and highly efficient DC inverter electric motor called the "Poki Poki." The Poki Poki motor's stator is not made of a single body but is divided into multiple parts (cores). The individual cores undergo the coil winding process individually (Joint Lap), so that the winding process minimizes dead space and increases efficiency.
Legislative Decree 2037/2000/EC established a complete ban on HCFC (R22) refrigerants effective January 1, 2015. Therefore, in the event of a breakdown or simple refrigerant leak from an R22 air conditioner, it will no longer be possible to refill the charge. The simplest and most cost-effective solution, especially for small to medium-sized systems, is to completely replace the air conditioner. Mitsubishi Electric is the first company to have a technology that allows the reuse of existing piping without remediation, even for pipes with different diameters. Thanks to the use of an exclusive HAB (alkylbenzene) oil and a special technology that reduces compressor friction, it is possible, for most of our air conditioners, to reuse the old piping, achieving numerous advantages:
The V Blocking filter is a new purifying filter that improves the silver ion filter system by adding an antiviral action, capable of inhibiting viruses, bacteria, molds, and allergens; also effective against SARS-CoV-2.
The motorized vertical deflector allows the airflow to reach every side of the room.
The fan speed is automatically adjusted to meet the required level of comfort.
A self-diagnostic system makes recovery operations easier.
You can schedule the air conditioner to turn on or off at 1-hour intervals.
Easily set the desired temperature and ON/OFF operations in a weekly plan, so as to mirror the occupant's habits.
In the event of a temporary power outage, the air conditioner restarts automatically when the power is restored.
“I save” is a simplified function that allows you to select your preferred setting, such as night mode, with a single button.
The air conditioner automatically switches the operating mode (cool/heat) depending on the selected temperature.
Cooling is ensured even at low outside temperatures, thanks to intelligent control of the external fan.
The indoor unit can be connected to inverter multisplit systems.
The unit can be integrated into a MELANS control system and controlled by web server centralizers.
Possibility of using a wired remote control to control the indoor unit.
A single remote control can control up to 16 groups of air conditioners simultaneously.
MELCloud is the new Wi-Fi control for your Mitsubishi Electric system. Using the cloud (the "Cloud") to transmit and receive information and the dedicated Wi-Fi interface (MAC-587IF-E), you can easily control your system from anywhere using your PC, tablet, or smartphone; all you need is an internet connection. MELCloud can also be controlled by voice, thanks to compatibility with Google Home and Amazon Alexa voice assistants. The MELCloud service was designed for maximum compatibility with PCs, tablets, and smartphones thanks to dedicated apps or a web browser.
System Registration
To activate the MELCloud service, you must register your system. Once the interface has been connected to the indoor unit and paired with the router, you can proceed with system registration. To activate Wi-Fi control, simply go to www.melcloud.com, register as a user, and register your interface. From now on, you can take advantage of the full potential of the MELCloud service and manage your ECODAN air conditioner or heat pump from anywhere via the internet.
